Mr. Mo Woltering, Headmaster

Mr. Woltering returned to Holy Family Academy in 2016 after serving as the Headmaster of Covington Latin School in northern Kentucky for four years. Previous to that, he was the Academic Dean and a Teacher at Holy Family Academy for seven years. He is a graduate of Christendom College and has a Masters in Theology from the John Paul II Institute in Washington, DC. In addition, Mr. Woltering studied in the Licentiate Program at the Istituto Giovanni Paolo II in Rome for two years. He has published articles in the Imaginative Conservative, Homiletic and Pastoral Review, Crisis Magazine and the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars Quarterly. Mr. Woltering is also a certified barbecue judge, an amateur skeet shooter, a custom armorer, a bourbon sommelier and a part-time farmer. He is married with six children and lives in Orlean, Virginia.

Grade School Faculty
Mrs. Isabel Cueto – Kindergarten
Mrs. Cueto has been a veteran homeschooler for 23 years. She lives with her husband and family in Warrenton, Virginia.
Miss Mary Radel – First Grade
Miss Radel has been a teacher’s aid for both Kindergarten and First Grade before becoming the Kindergarten Teacher. Miss Radel is also a certified Ward Method Music Instructor and teaches Music in the Grade School. She is also the Instructor for the St. Anne’s Program, a classical co-op for children with Down Syndrome.

Miss Gabriella Moreno – Second Grade

Miss Moreno has taught at St. Jerome School in St. Paul, MN for one year before joining Holy Family Academy. She has done mission work in Myanmar and Lebanon.
Mrs. Mary Waldron – Third Grade

Mrs. Waldron was a founding faculty member of Holy Family Academy in 1993. She has returned this year to take over Third Grade. She has been a teacher in Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
Mrs. Karen Powers – Fourth Grade

Mrs. Powers has been Religious Ed instructor, a daycare provider and a substitute teacher before joining Holy Family Academy.
Miss Anna Barren – Fifth Grade

Miss Barren is an alumna of Holy Family Academy Class of 2014. She was also a student of long-time Third Grade teacher Mrs. Sandra Witter!

Mrs. Marian Hartzell – Sixth Grade

Mrs. Hartzell has over 20 years of teaching experience in various grade levels and schools including 11 years teaching Religion at Bishop O’Connell High School. She has 4 children and 1 grandchild and lives in Fairfax with her husband.
At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. At present I know partially; then I shall know fully, as I am fully known. So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor 13:12-13)
Mrs. Denise Woltering – Grade School Curriculum Director

Mrs. Woltering was one of the founding faculty members of Holy Family and has been a teacher for more than ten years. She has also been a homeschool co-op board member and instructor. Over the years she has developed a comprehensive knowledge of the various Catholic and classical curricula that are available today. She is also a graduate of Trivium School in Lancaster, Mass, the pioneer in the resurgence of Catholic classical schools.

Dr. Richard Belleville, Headmaster Emeritus — Philosophy
Dr. Richard Belleville, the founder of Holy Family Academy has been involved in education for more than thirty years. He earned his Doctorate in Philosophy under Peter Kreeft and Fr. Robert Tacelli, S.J. at Boston College. Dr. Belleville also holds a Class A Contractor’s License in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is an accomplished builder, carpenter, and craftsman. He is the devoted husband of Mrs. Jean Belleville, loving father to four children, and proud grandfather of more than thirty grandchildren.

Dr. Jeffrey Bond — Academic Dean and Upper School Teacher

Dr. Bond has over 40 years of teaching experience both at the college and high school level. He has presented numerous academic papers and published numerous academic articles. He has been a high school football and baseball coach. He and his wife have nine children.
Mr. Joseph Bond — Upper School

Mr. Bond taught Literature and Latin at St. Bernard Prep in Cullman, Alabama for seven years prior to join the Faculty at Holy Family Academy.
Mr. Jacob Cornwell – Upper School

Mr. Cornwell has worked as a Teaching Assistant and Writing Lab Coach at Mary Baldwin. In addition, he has worked in and performed countless productions both at Mary Baldwin and Ave Maria. Mr. Cornwell lives in Manassas, VA with his wife and two children.

Mr. Earner has taught at St. Rita School in Alexandria and St. Ambrose School in Annandale. He attended Trinity School at Meadow View for high school.
Mrs. Patty Hetrick — Upper School

Mrs. Hetrick has been a teacher at HFA several years ago when her children attended. She has taught at St. Andrews in Clifton for the past 12 years. In addition, she has also taught at Aquinas Regional School and Seton School.

Miss Osterhage studied Literature at Christendom and Art History at George Mason. She is the high school girls’ homeroom teacher and lives in Fairfax, Virginia.
Mr. Patrick Storey – Dean of Students, Athletic Director and Upper School
B.A., Christendom College, Virginia
Mr. Storey lives in Amissville, Virginia with his wife and six children. This is his seventeenth academic year at Holy Family, whose athletic department he founded and still directs. He is also homeroom teacher for the high school boys.
